27 October 2013

Spook-Tober with Nuffnang!

Hellow Mellow ! So, yesterday I attended an event by Nuffnang , #GSCHorrorFest to be precised.  This event was held in conjunction with Halloween which is this THURSSDDAYYYY!!! *Excited*

A BIG THANK YOU to Nuffnang , GSC 1 Utama and Churp Churp for organizing this event!

Nuffnang was looking for150 Nuffnangers to c join them for the fright of our lives on the 26th of October from 6pm to 2am at GSC 1 Utama. And I was one of the lucky Nuffnangers to win 2 pairs of tickets!
During the last Halls of Horror Halloween event, I went as a witch, check out my previous post here if you missed it. And , this time I didn't know what to go as. I was inspired by #TVD esp with them always getting hurt (in accidents) , I thought I'd do my own make up . I hope it looked good. I think I did. LOL. what do you think? And I wore a Chinese Traditional CheongSam , a pair of black feathered earrings and a pair of black wedges to go with the whole look.

Make up of the night
I received four passes from Nuffnang for this event and I brought my two monsters (Garreth and Tristen). They didn't know what to go as so they got themselves a mask each. Whatchu think of their masks ?

And, Because it was only the three of us, my friend Roger joined us. Hope you enjoyed the movies Roger !
P/s- Roger has an online store called VinylFashion ! Check it out ya guys! It's pretty new so do show your support!

Anyways, A lot of them came with costumes. Some were pretty fascinating.
Didn't think people will go all out and dress up! Good Job guys! Take a look at some of the costumes.

See the Angel? He was one of the best dressed there! His eyes was scary !

If u notice the picture above, those characters were from the movie Rigor Mortis!
The twins and the Chinese Vampire!

Oh Oh and look at this! Upon registration at 5.30pm we received goodie bags from GSC. I love those sticky candies and how cute is that lil devil thingy! Cool huh!

Once we were done with the registration, we were asked to head on to the lounge for a spooky-feast!
Look at the food they served. From Eyeballs to fingers to worms to brains! It was Too scary to eat!
But I nibbled on a couple of fingers ang eyeballs. :P
The movies were scheduled to start at 7.30pm so, while we were waiting, we were entertained with come trivia questions and also best dressed! As mentioned above, the angel was the best one there!
Congrats Angel!

Okay moving on to the movies. Here's my take on the movies screened yesterday
the first one was

Rigor Mortis

According to Wikipedia, Rigor mortis which in Latin rigor "stiffness", mortis "of death" is one of the recognizable signs of death, caused by chemical changes in the muscles after death, causing the limbs of the corpse to become stiff and difficult to move or manipulate.
The movie produced by J-Horror icon Takashi Shimizu, Hong Kong singer-actor Juno Mak’s directorial debut revolves around a suicidal, washed-up actor’s confrontations with supernatural beings in a dilapidated tenement block.Set in a dank ambience de rigueur to Japanese supernatural flicks –a visual debt probably owed to The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu,Mak’s co-producer here – zombies and shamen made famous by the cult Hong Kong 1980s franchise Mr Vampire runs amok.
*Info taken fromhollywood reporter.com*

Well,I thought that Rigor Mortis was pretty scary because of the twins. The setting of the movie for a start was set in a condo/ flats which look pretty dodgy and old. That gave it even more umphh to how scary it was gonna be. Although some parts of it was not very realistic, It was definitely spooky!
I say, 4 stars!

The second one was
The Second Sight.
This is a Thai Movie

Second sight was Directed by Pornchai Hongrattaporn The story involves young defense lawyer Jate (Nawat Kulratanarat) He had psychic powers that allowed him to see the bad karma of others and the ghosts that surround them. He can foresee bad things that are about to happen. His powers have made him a very rich and at the end he had his fair share of karma for what he had done in the past and in the current moment of time.
I thought this movie was a little bit dull.Maybe because it was mixed of horror and love. It was a little scary but not as scary as Rigor Mortis. And, usually Thai shows are scary . Well, Lucky me it wasn't, If it was, i don't think I'll be be able to sleep at night!
I say 3 stars!

And the last one was
Insidious 2!
The sequel delivered plenty of answers to some burning questions from the first film and most importantly revealed what happened to Josh when he was a child. The film introduces a new character, Carl, who helps the Lambert family locate the Bride in Black. Carl was first called by Lorraine Lambert to help her son when he was a boy. Carl felt like he was unequipped to help, which is when Elise came into the picture.
In the end, the family is reunited and Carl helps Josh and Dalton forget about the other world by seemingly hypnotizing them. *Info from ibtimes.com*

It looks like there'll be another “Insidious” soon to come. Elise’s team arrives at a house where a young girl has apparently been terrorized. Elise speaks to Alison, a young girl but sees something that scares her.

Insidious 2 was definitely a surprise even though I was watching it for the second time. I guess it was cuz I had my eyes covered throughout most of movie when I watched it during Halls of Horror! I would say that this is definitely the scariest movie among the three.
I rate it : 4.5 Stars
All in all it was definitely a  night of spookeness! Spook-tober is looking good! Only a week left ! Can't wait for the next party on the 31st ! What shall I go as this time?If you have any ideas, feedback, or something to share, so drop a comment.
